Free entitlement

PlayPlus Kindergarten participates in offering free early years provision for 3 & 4 year old children.

The current offering is for a maximum of 15 hours per week, for 38 weeks of the year offered as 3 x 5 hour sessions per week.

Playplus will be participating in the extended 30 hours per week offering (also 38 weeks per year) for qualifying working parents as of September 2017. This will be offered as 3 x 10 hour sessions per week, with a voluntary supplement for food and activities.

Non-qualifying parents will still be entitled to the 15 hour basic offering once the extended offer is introduced.

Some 2 year olds may also qualify for funding depending on parental circumstances. Parents who feel they may be eligible are advised to check this with the local authority or ask the nursery for further information.

  • Funding can be split across nurseries, pre-schools and State nurseries (max. of 2 providers).
  • PlayPlus will arrange all necessary paperwork, with parents required to supply documentation confirming their child’s date of birth, and in the case of the 30 hour offering parents will be required to provide the necessary ID from HMRC to demonstrate eligibility.
  • Parents will be invoiced for their fees in the usual manner, less the free hours per session. Additional hours will be billed accordingly. Example: A child who attends the nursery for three days per week (8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) will be entitled to the full 15 hours free care; the invoice will show two days each with six hours deducted, one day with three hours deducted.
